Machangulo Beach Lodge, Mozambique
In a secluded location on the southern Mozambican coastline, Machangulo Beach Lodge is set high up on a dune in a Private Nature Reserve on a peninsula, straddling the Indian Ocean on one side and the calm estuaries of Maputo Bay on the other. The lodge has a laid-back atmosphere, and is nestled on a hillside in dense evergreen thickets, overlooking endless ocean vistas. A wide variety of activities can be enjoyed for all ages and skill levels: swim, snorkel and stand up paddle board off the shore, explore the 1km long house reef or head out to the various dive sites, kayak the mangrove estuaries, or try your hand at one of the world class catch-and-release fishing sites. On land, walk kilometres of pristine beach, hike the dunes, visit the local village's beach bar, or take a trip to the nearby islands.
Day 1: Arrival
From Maputo you will be transferred to the lodge by a boat, which departs approximately at 13:30 and transfer time is around 90 minutes. When you reach Machangulo you would be welcomed with a drink and checked in to your room.

Day 2-5: Machangulo beach lodge
Your days are spend relaxing in this secluded paradise. Santa Maria Bay on the southern Mozambiquan coastline boasts pristine beaches, lush dune forests, estuaries, secluded bays and wide-open oceans. Just east of Maputo, it is surrounded by Ponto do Ouro, the Kosi Bay Trans-frontier Conservation Area, and lies south of the Inhaca Island Marine Reserve. Separating Santa Maria (Machangulo) Peninsula from Inhaca Island is the infamous deep channel known as "Hell's Gate."
With a wide variety of activities available, Santa Maria is suitable for those searching for a fun-filled, active destination, as well as guests requiring relaxation in an attractive setting. Days may be spent lazing on sun-baked sands, wandering through coastal forests and snorkelling. Nights are perfect for savouring delicious Mozambiquan meals with their unique blend of African and Portuguese flavours.
The region is renowned for its superb fishing's either from the shoreline or a boat. (optional extra & additional charges apply).
Your stay includes variety of activities like shore kayaking, stand-up paddle boards, shore snorkelling and one guided dune walk.

Day 6: Departure
After breakfast you will be transferred back to Maputo Marina by boat, and then continue by road transfer to Maputo airport.
