Central America Holidays

We offer journeys through Belize, Costa Rica, Guatemala, Nicaragua, Panama and Mexico, each bringing its own piece of Latin America’s rich and varied culture. While Mexico is geographically part of North America, we include it here as part of our broader Latin America offering. 

Central America and Mexico enjoy a pleasant tropical climate year round, but the dry season, December to April, is generally the most comfortable time to visit. The wet season runs from May to October and tends to be quieter, with fewer crowds. 

A few other things worth considering: areas of high elevation, found in parts of Costa Rica, Guatemala, Nicaragua and Mexico, can be surprisingly cold. Areas along the Caribbean coast are also susceptible to hurricanes between June and November, particularly in October and November. Length will vary greatly depending on how many countries you would like to visit and how you would like to explore, as we offer tailormade itineraries and small expedition cruises. Our Central America journeys range from shorter 4-day tours like our Panama City Essentials, through to more comprehensive options like our 22-day Best of Central America. On top of this, you will need to allow at least a day of travel from Australia, typically connecting via the US. 

We offer tailormade adventures such as The Mayan Empire: Guatemala & Mexico and Best of Central America, alongside small ship expedition cruises through Central America and Baja California for travellers who would prefer to explore by sea. 

There are no direct flights from Australia to any country in Central America or Mexico, which means flights via the USA (usually Los Angeles) are required. There are also alternatives to fly into some countries via South America, although this is typically longer and more expensive.
