With views to the Electric Valley and the Marconi Glacier, explora El Chaltén is perfectly situated. 17 km away from El Chaltén –in the Argentinean Patagonia– the lodge is a headquarter from where to explore a world-renowned destination by those who love nature and trekking. All programs include accommodations, transfers to and from the airport, meals and beverages, and a selection of exploration routes designed by our outdoors team.

The explorations at El Chaltén are as varied as the surroundings. The area’s geography has towering mountains and different landscapes open to be discovered through treks, overland trips, ice hikes, and even rock climbing, depending on the preferences and skills of each traveller.
The Los Glaciares National Park, declared a world heritage site by UNESCO, will be one of the places explored, with vast ice fields and the world-renowned Perito Moreno Glacier, one of the few ice massifs that keeps a state of equilibrium and which amazes visitors with spectacular ice collapses. Other attractions to be discovered are the Southern Patagonia Mountain Range, Mount Fitz-Roy, the towering heights of the area, and the surroundings of the Los Huemules Natural Reserve, in addition to the Patagonia forest and its rich wildlife.
The explorations can cover a full day or half a day, in groups of no more than eight travelers accompanied by a bilingual guide trained in our own Guide School.

Upon arrival you will be greeted by friendly staff and assisted to check in. Time permitting, join in on an activity offered by the hotel.
Excursions
Join our knowledgeable, multilingual guides for more than 30 guided Explorations, included as party of your stay at Explora El Chaltén. These adventures include treks, hikes, and overland explorations across Los Glaciares National Park with its rugged glacial peaks, the lesser-known trails of Los Huemules Conservation Reserve, and the wildlife enclave of Argentina’s Desert Lake. Every Exploration is customized daily to match your interests and fitness levels, promising a personalized adventure in El Chaltén.
Departure Day
At the scheduled time today Explora staff will transfer you back to the airport in time to catch your departure flight.
