Welcome to Argentina! Upon arrival in Buenos Aires, you will be greeted by an experienced guide at the airport and transferred by private vehicle to your hotel. The afternoon is free to rest and recover from your flight or to head out and discover the city.
Today's excursion will introduce you to the magic of the Argentine capital. After being picked up from your hotel, start with a visit of 'San Telmo', the oldest barrio (neighbourhood) of Buenos Aires which is famous for its historic architecture, tango parlours and antique shops. Take your time and wander through the cobblestone streets learning about the history of the area and seeing its sights, including impressive old churches and its abundance of colourful street art. You will leave San Telmo and the tour continues past the many architectural highlights of Buenos Aires including the Palace of Justice, the Argentine National Congress building, the 'Cabildo (old town hall) and the presidential palace 'Casa Rosada' (pink house). Next, visit ‘La Boca', the most picturesque of all neighbourhoods in Buenos Aires. This extravagant zone is completely different to the old and to the modern Buenos Aires, and where it is said that tango was born. Wander its famous street “Caminito” where you will have the chance to view the spectacle of impromptu tango dancing, street performers and buy some local handicrafts. On your way back to your hotel you’ll pass through the newly restored Puerto Madero area where you can choose to be dropped off for a nice meal by the waterfront. Buenos Aires' nightlife provides the local porteños and its ever-growing swarm of visitors with a seemingly endless array of quality entertainment options. This evening you will be blown away by an unforgettable tango show performed by the best dancers and singers of this genre whist tucking into dinner. This is the way one ought to live Buenos Aires, the city of tango. After the show has dazzled you, you will be transferred back to your hotel.
Breakfast and Dinner included.
On day 3, you will further discover what makes Buenos Aires great as we explore its better known and sophisticated districts; Palermo and Recoleta. We start with a drive through Recoleta with its open green spaces blended with elegant boutique shopping, cafés, embassies and impressive architecture. We visit such landmarks as the Pilar Church and Evita Monument before taking a short walk through the Recoleta cemetery where Evita's tomb can be found. We continue on to Palermo which is Buenos Aires' largest neighbourhood, and also its trendiest. Here you will walk the streets which are full of beautiful parks, hip boutique hotels, chic restaurants and bars, and high fashion stores. Throughout the morning your knowledgeable guide will give you an insight into local life and excellent local cuisine and on completion of the tour you will have the option of being dropped off at an excellent restaurant for lunch or being taken back to your hotel.
Breakfast included.
In the morning, transfer to Buenos Aires domestic airport to board your flight to San Carlos de Bariloche. Upon arrival, you'll be greeted by an experienced guide who will introduce you to this charmingly Alpine-style city resting on the shores of Lake Nahuel Huapi. You'll then be helped to check in to your selected hotel. Bariloche's deep blue lakes, towering mountains, glaciers and virgin forests make it an incomparable vacation destination. The scenery alone will leave you breathless. You'll have the afternoon and evening all to yourself to stroll by the lake, explore the city and get tempted by its many chocolate factories.
Breakfast included.
Today, visit the Nahuel Huapi National Park to witness the uniquely stunning landscape of crystal-clear lakes, snow-capped mountains and an amazing native forest of beautiful copper-coloured autumn leaves. The tour starts at Bustillo Avenue, bordering Lake Nahuel Huapi, and visits Playa Bonita, Campanario Hill (chair lift is included), San Pedro Peninsula, Llao Llao Peninsula and Saint Edward's Chapel, and Port Pañuelo. The journey continues across the Angostura Bridge over the stream linking the Moreno & Nahuel Huapi Lakes, Bahia Lopez and El Trebol Lagoon. You will then find yourself at Panoramic Point, a natural balcony over Moreno Lake and Llao Llao Peninsula. This location offers magnificent views of the lakes and surrounding mountain ranges. When it comes to beer, Bariloche is a city that pays a special tribute. It even has a street that worships this beverage. Your tour today will surprise you with a visit to one of its main breweries for tasting and enjoying a traditional “picada.”
Breakfast and Lunch included.
After having breakfast at your hotel, check-out and transfer to the Piedra del Aguila area, a perfect place for totality observation (3 hour drive). Arrive at our exclusive observatory eclipse camp located near the central axis of the eclipse path, where you can relax and enjoy some drinks and explore the area with easy hikes. Tonight, we’ll serve a candle-light dinner with excellent Argentine wines enjoying an evening under the stars.
The next day, get up early and enjoy breakfast before starting your journey. Observe the phases of the total solar eclipse. After the astronomical event we will serve a local picnic lunch accompanied by excellent drinks, where you can stay in our fully furnished stretch tent, or in the outdoors surrounded by nature. Later, after the historic event — the second visible total solar eclipse in Argentina — join your fellow travellers for an eclipse celebration at dinner.
Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner included.
After an early breakfast at the campsite for star observation before sunrise, transfer to Bariloche to board flight to El Calafate, gateway to The Glaciers National Park. Upon arrival, you'll be greeted by your experienced guide who knows all about this cozy little Patagonian village huddled on the shore of Lake Argentino. The guide will transfer you to your hotel, where you have time to relax and enjoy the impressive View of Lake Argentino.
The next day, see the impressive Perito Moreno Glacier. Arriving at the park, you will board a boat to approach the south walls of the magnificent glacier. Gorgeously framed by dramatic mountains, lakes and forests, the Perito Moreno Glacier is a spectacular sight, owing its fame to its continuous movement, which produces a cyclical phenomenon of forward and backward motion, causing awe inspiring periods of ice-toppling. You won't believe your eyes, so make sure you take plenty of photos! You'll have very little inclination to argue with UNESCO's decision to dub this a World Natural Heritage Site way back in 1981. Back at the port, your vehicle will take you to the Glaciers' balconies where you'll get to spend 4 or so hours walking along the various pathways to absorb its glory from various angles.
On day 10, at the scheduled time, you'll be picked up from your hotel to be transferred to the Airport or bus station to continue to your next destination.
Breakfast included.
