Northern Patagonia is home to the Lake District and world-famous national parks. Today you will visit the Nahuel Huapi National Park. Why, you ask? Once you get a glimpse of it's uniquely stunning landscapes of lakes and snow-capped mountains you will forget about any doubts you may have been holding. What's more, you will come across an amazing native forest of beautiful copper-coloured autumn leaves sitting next to the crystal-clear waters of the lake.
Your tour begins at Bustillo Avenue which borders Lake Nahuel Huapi, to visit Playa Bonita, Mount Campanario (chair lift is optional), San Pedro Peninsula, Llao Llao Peninsula, Saint Edward's Chapel and Port Panuelo. The journey then continues across the Angostura Bridge over the stream linking the Moreno and Nahuel Huapi Lakes, Bahia Lopez and El Trebol Lagoon. You will then find yourself at Panoramic Point, a natural balcony over Moreno Lake and Llao Llao Peninsula. The secret is in the name really: this location offers rather magnificent views of the lakes and surrounding mountain ranges.
When it comes to beer, Bariloche is a city that pays special tribute to the beverage - it even has a street that worships the brew. This afternoon you will visit one of it's main breweries for a tasting and enjoy a traditional 'picada', another attraction that shows visitors all the flavours of this wonderful Patagonian region with it's smoked products and exclusive meat, including venison, boar, tour and salmon.
Breakfast and Lunch included.
Check out of your hotel this morning and transfer to the airport where you will board your flight bound for El Calafate, the gateway to the Glaciers National Park. Upon arrival you will be greeted by your guide who knows everything about this cosy little Patagonian village huddled on the shore of Lake Argentino.
Argentina is not short on natural beauty and today's excursion will be no exception as you visit the Perito Moreno Glacier, named a UNESCO World Heritage Site back in 1981. Arriving at the park you will board a boat which will take you along the southern walls of the magnificent glacier. Back at the port your vehicle will take you to the glacier's balcony's where you will have around 4-hours to wander along the various pathways and drink in it's glory from different angles. Stunningly framed by dramatic mountains, lakes and forests, Perito Moreno Glacier is one of the most spectacular scenes going around. It owes it's fame to its continuous movement which produces a cyclical phenomenon of forward and backward motion, causing awe-inspiring periods of ice toppling. You really won't believe your eyes so be sure to have your camera ready.
After your last breakfast at your hotel, make sure that you allow some time to buy some last-minute souvenirs and take some final photos. You will be picked up from your accommodation and transferred back to the airport to board your departure flight.
