Feast on delicious food and wine and learn about the unique wildlife, culture and history of South Australia on our 10-day self-drive holiday. Begin with two nights in Adelaide, the wine and festival capital of Australia and visit the huge Central Market, or enjoy the botanic gardens, museums and galleries at your leisure. Spend a day on Kangaroo Island and see curious wildlife in its natural environment. Pick up a car and head towards the famous Barossa Valley, home to some of Australia’s most well-known wineries including Penfolds and Wolf Blass.
Visit Clare Valley, Australia’s answer to Tuscany with its rolling hills, stone buildings and established wineries. Continue north to Flinders Ranges and the outback, home to Aboriginal rock art and Australia’s largest salt-lake. Before returning to Adelaide, spend a night in Port Augusta with its rich maritime and Aboriginal history, known as the Crossroads, as the road continues all the way north to Alice Springs and Darwin!
